Menstrual Hygiene

Solving Menstrual Poverty

Based on feedback from the needs assessment conducted in spring 2023, focus groups of women informed MIGHTi of the disparities that exist around menstrual hygiene in the Mungu community. Of course, MIGHTi was motivated to work with the women and girls in the community to address the issue.

We’re in the planning phase of developing a shop for women to access sustainable and reusable hygiene and menstrual-related products. This shop will be the first of its kind in the area, and will include a work-for-credit system to create an access channel for those who cannot afford to pay, and ultimately empower women with more choice about how to take care of their needs. Because all women should have choice when in comes to their bodies.
